Program Manager (Richmond)
Gail Giese serves as the Program Manager for the Hope Unity and Freedom Center located in Richmond, Virginia. She is responsible for managing all aspects of the HUF Center’s Psychosocial Day Support program for adults with a primary mental health diagnosis, dual diagnosis, and /or a coexisting disorder. Gail loves working with the clients, teaching them to advocate for themselves, and assisting others in growing and reaching new levels. Gail guides an experienced, caring and creative team of staff.
Gail earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University. While in school she worked with infants and children up to the age of 14 years of age. She continued her education at Virginia Commonwealth University studying Counseling Education.
Gail is a native Virginian and has worked with children, adolescents, families and the elderly for over eighteen years. During this time she has worked directly with individuals and families, directed programs, and was CSA Coordinator for a locality in the Northern Neck of Virginia. She also directed a program that allowed students who were at-risk of being placed in a more restrictive school setting due to their behaviors to be able to remain in their home school.
Gail spent three years marketing and directing the admissions department for a large residential treatment center for children and adolescents. During this time she traveled throughout Virginia and North Carolina working with social services, court service units, mental health agencies and families in need of residential services.
